MIGRANT 
NEEDS

SUPPORT THOSE WHO ARE MIGRANTS COMING INTO EAST HARLEM

in partnership with Exodus Transitional Community 

These are the items requested by Exodus that can be delivered to the Grace Center located at 178 E 124th St. Mon-Fri from 9 am - 5 pm.

If you are not able to take the items to the Grace Center, please drop them at the EHMH (2271 2nd Ave) on Wednesdays or Fridays between 9 am - 4 pm:

CLOTHING:

  • Clothing (men/women/children)

  • Underwear (men/ women/children)

  • Winter Clothes (men/women/children)

  • Shoes (men/women/children)

 

HYGIENE PRODUCTS:

  • Deodorant

  • Shampoo 

  • Conditioner

  • Feminine products 

  • Tooth brush

  • Toothpaste

FOOD ITEMS:

  • Rice 

  • Beans

  • Pasta

  • Spaghetti Sauce 

  • Ground turkey 

  • Breaded Chicken tenders

  • Chickens wings 

  • Sandwich meat and Cheese

  • Bread 

  • Mayo

  • Frozen waffles and pancakes

  • Cereal

  • Coffee, tea, sugar, and powdered creamer 

  • Hot dogs 

  • Burgers 

  • Buns 

  • Canned tuna

Exodus has seen a 70% increase in the amount of meals served, with up to 150 individuals lining up daily for a hot meal. Unfortunately there have been days where they run out of food and had to turn people away. Clothes are also a great need as most individuals have shown up in NY with nothing more than the clothes on their backs.

Pastor Dorlimar at the People's Church reached out and asked if we could help provide a washer and dryer for their church as they have been caring for immigrant families of all ages who have been transported to East Harlem from Texas.

Thank you for your generous giving! We were able to tell Pastor Dorlimar we could gift their church the washer and dryer combo so they could continue caring for so many.

👥We need you! — we need volunteers to help sort and organize donations as well as greet.

Drop off donated items from Tuesday - Friday from 1 pm - 8 pm at 163 E 111th St. 

​

You may also drop off items on Saturdays from 11 am - 4 pm at 163 E 111th St.

The Community Closet (116th & 2nd Ave.) 

​

The Community Closet operates as a "free store" for the community. It is known as "the place where everything is free." Here, visitors with material needs can receive gently used clothing and home goods items. Donations are accepted every 1st Sunday between 1-3 pm. Click here for more info

 

The Community Closet, located at 2271 2nd Ave., is a ministry of Redeemer East Harlem where every visitor is treated with kindness and dignity. Our visitors include local neighbors as well a new migrant neighbors. All are welcome!
