Volunteer to Serve East Harlem

Here are two opportunities to help show the love of Christ in our neighborhood:

  1. On October 1, from 10 am - 12 pm, a few REH congregants are leading a trash pick-up opportunity to clean East Harlem. Volunteers will pick up trash on 116th street. We will meet at the EHMH (2271 2nd Ave.) at 10 am. REH will provide trash bags, gloves, and also has a few trash pickers available for use. A pizza lunch will be provided for volunteers.

  2. On October 8, from 1 pm - 3 pm, we will be working with Uptown Grand Central to garden in East Harlem. The gardening consists of clearing plant beds, planting flowers, and adding a fresh layer of topsoil. We will start on E 101st and Lexington.

If you are interested in volunteering for any of these opportunities, please register below. If you have any questions, please contact ariel.ramirez@redeemer.com.

We are grateful for our close partnership with Avail and the work they continue to do with families across our city.

They have reached out concerning volunteer opportunities and we encourage you to serve with Avail. To become a volunteer with Avail, please email Jin Song (jin.song@availnyc.org) and include "Interest in Becoming an Avail Volunteer" in the subject line.

Throughout the months of September, October, and November, The Open Door will meet at the EHMH as they welcome Spanish-speaking neighbors to learn ESL.

They have asked us for volunteers to help serve our neighbors who are learning English. If you are able, please consider serving with them on Monday nights this fall, from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. For more information, please contact Eunah Lee (who goes by Grace) at: eunah@theopendoornjny.org
